Jane won her first of many awards as a fourth grader in Allentown, PA and in high school, was named the most promising art student by the Allentown Chamber of Commerce. She graduated from Syracuse University School of Art with a BFA in advertising design and a minor in photography from The Newhouse School.
She worked in New York for Bantam Books designing advertising and promotional materials for major book releases such as Mastering the Art of French Cooking by chef legend Julia Child. She opened her own Minneapolis agency and after a 40-year career in healthcare marketing, including eight years at the Mayo Clinic, put it all aside to paint.
Her pastels have been juried into numerous shows in several states. She is the winner of six national awards and was chosen by the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art in Bermuda to be their artist-in-residence for three months in 2015. She was selected by the National Park Service as an alternate for a similar program at Acadia National Park. Her work is in private collection including that of former NBC news correspondent Sander Vanocur. She was selected by the U. S. Geological Survey to exhibit in their national headquarters. One of her golf paintings was chosen for the cover of a United States Golf Association championship magazine. She has been featured in élan magazine.
Jane’s pastels bring a unique look and feel to the medium, a reflection of her earlier days painting in oil, watercolor and acrylic. Depth and dimension are achieved through extensive layering of color and a mix of blended and non-blended areas on tonal paper. An avid traveler, her work reflects a palette from among different landscapes across the country, Europe and the British Isles.
