Back in time for Fall Arts Season!

I hope all of you have been able to take some time off and have an enjoyable summer visiting with family and friends or maybe getting in some travel to a 'must see' destination!   I had a wonderful time at the beach on the Aegean coast of Turkey and enjoyed stopovers in Istanbul at the beginning and end of my trip which allowed me to see some close friends, visit the local art scene and re-discover the pleasure of taking long strolls along the beautiful Bosphorus!

It has been ten years since the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance (GWC&TA) inaugurated their Lobby Art Gallery at the Hershberger Building located at 421 N. Boundary Street.  I am honored to be the exhibiting artist once again and will have some examples of my artwork showing there during November and December of this year.   It was wonderful seeing so many friends again among the GWC&TA staff while hanging my work:  Donna Martin, Naomi Flythe, Jodi Lumley, Beth Zambela and Vivian Bunting. The great news is that the GWC&TA alliance has a new Executive Director, Terry Banez, who is a Williamsburg-area native well-known to our community and who has a long and very successful track record in the business world.  I had a chance to bid a fond farewell to Bob Harris, the Tourism Alliance Director, who has done so much in support of the arts and who is off soon to take up new responsibilities at the Myrtle Beach, S.C. Chamber of Commerce.  The GWC&TA provides outstanding support to our local business community and I encourage you to visit their website to learn more about their activities and to get to know their friendly staff.

If you have not seen it yet, please visit my new and refreshed personal artist website at www.gulayberryman.com and let me know what you think!

Our Williamsburg Art Gallery online store, www.wmbgartgallery.com, is fully functional and currently carries my original oil paintings, canvas reproductions and prints, but we are on track for an expansion to represent the work of a number of other artists beginning next year! We will be seeking to promote the Fine Art of mainly Virginia-based artists and will carry work in all the traditional art mediums (oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, graphite, etc.) as well as sculpture.  Stay tuned for a Call for Artists for our next consignment period.

Thank you everyone and I look forward to both seeing you and hearing from you as the busy fall season for the arts continues!

Gulay
