April 30, 2023: Art on the Square in downtown Williamsburg

We invite you to join us for Art on the Square on Sunday, April 30th in Merchants Square in downtown Williamsburg. Art on the Square is sponsored by the Junior Woman’s Club of Williamsburg (JWCW).  This year will be the 58th Edition of what is now the longest-running annual art festival in Williamsburg, Virginia.  Between 80-100 juried artists will be exhibiting their work.

For many years, the late Dick DePaul would donate one of his superb original watercolor paintings depicting a scene from beautiful Colonial Williamsburg to a raffle conducted by the JWCW.   I was deeply honored when asked if I would be willing to create and donate a painting to continue Dick DePaul’s legacy in helping the JWCW’s support of the arts.

My painting, titled ‘Afternoon Glow’ (14 x 18 in., oil on canvas) represents the Taliaferro-Cole House & Shop and its garden.

Proceeds from the raffle of this original painting along with those from the sale of the official Art on the Square print bearing an image of this painting go towards an art scholarship.
